As of 2020/21 Spring Semester, PET 412E: Petroleum and Natural Gas Economics course is taught with support from DataCamp, an online learning platform for data science and analytics. Statistical analysis plays an important role in risk analysis and uncertainty quantification for oil and gas exploration and valuation. Our students find an opportunity to apply the theoretical concepts that they learn using modern statistical computing environments such as R and Python to solve problems related to oil and natural gas exploration and valuation. While learning how to code in these environments, our students benefit greatly from the educational licences that DataCamp provided to our Department.
